Inspiration
If you are feeling discouraged because your kids aren’t as nice to each other as you would like, check out L & J, enjoy their moment together, remember that they are normal siblings who fight like cats and dogs and then make up. Remember, that this is possible when you create an environment that is rich with appreciation, acceptance and opportunities to be kind.
Feeling flat, deflated and uninspired, check out this quick reminder that lots of amazing individuals were cast aside by some knuckle head who made the mistake of thinking that WHAT they did was WHO they were. Don’t make that same mistake with your kids.
Find yourself whining a bit this season? Feeling sorry for yourself but not really enjoying it. Want to give yourself a good kick in the pants drop all the nonsense? If so, watch this very quick clip and tell me that you don’t remember why Life Is Good!
I came here to provide inspiration but I got some too!
I’ve been working this program with my kids for over a year. When I started my relationship with my seven year old was starting to feel awful. I learned immediately that I don’t have to be superhuman and I need to grow up a little. This message was easy to swallow because it was shared in the spirit of acceptance, kindness, respect and humor. I have stumbled…a lot. I’m sure that if Vicki came to spend the afternoon at my house she would have a lot of feedback for me, However, there is something I know beyond a shadow of a doubt; my relationship with my children is better AND they are learning to be responsible for their own lives. There is no level of perfection going on here. In fact, there are many times when we just fly by the seat of our pants. I know that we will fill in the gaps if we continue. I know they will also learn from this process because we’ve had the guts to engage it fully; mess ups, bad attitudes, rough days and all! My children can learn to take responsibility because they are watching their adults do it too. What a way to live! It’s not always pretty, but it’s awesome!
Thanks!
Yes. It is awesome. Life is awesome. The mess is awesome. The mistakes are awesome. It’s all awesome IF, we remember what’s most important.
Enjoy the season.
