September 28th – Afternoon Routines Wreaking Havoc?
The afternoon and evening routines can wreak havoc on any family. It seems even if you have your morning routine set, that after school can be a bewitching hour!
Whether it is extended day care, after school programs, sports, homework or jobs, parents are juggling more then they can handle.
This week I had a great conversation with Jen, a mother of 4, ranging in age from 5 to 14, and I asked her to share what her afternoon and evening routines look like. She shared her thoughts, experiences and insights and provided a few tips for parents who are struggling to juggle this sometimes difficult part of the day. Any mom looking for a different perspective on this treacherous time of day will appreciate this conversation.
Watch some independent, confident kids in action!
If you are NOT completely satisfied with your routines, register for the upcoming Tele Class on Tuesday, October 6th and give your routines a fresh start.

Better Afternoons
Better Evenings
What a great little article: short and sweet and to the point!! I love the idea of turning the “Bewitching Hour into the Making Memories time”… what a concept!!!
Thanks for sharing this topic of Redefining Routines!!

Good Morning,
Thanks. We love hearing from folks who find our site. I had a chance to check yours out and at first glance it seems so much in line with what we are talking about over here in Vermont.
I also notice that you are from the Seattle area. Don’t know if you know, but I am from Edmonds, WA. My family is still in the area. I also noticed on your Resource Page that you have many of the same books I recommend and that I have close at hand.
If you are ever interested in talking about how we might support each other – beyond my recommending your site and adding you to all our social media, please let me know.
Otherwise, have a fabulous day and enjoy the Northwest Fall.
